October 2008

Greetings Friends of Marble Quarry RV Park

There are many upcoming events here in Columbia that are listed at: http://www.columbiacalifornia.com/events.html

We would like to high light one and tell about another that is not listed. On October 11th and 12th the Columbia Harvest Festival will be held on the shady streets of Columbia State Historic Park. "A cornucopia of country crafts, comestibles and demonstrations of old time skills, music and dancing. Wear your Gold Rush duds and enjoy the presence of the past."

We still have a few sites available, but are filling fast.

On Saturday, October 25th, from 10:00 to 3:00, Clarke Buehling, banjo player extraordinaire, will be "willfully demonstrating his multifaceted talent with little remorse", at the Columbia Booksellers and Stationers, right in the middle of town.  "Would be a shame to have missed this event." Clarke will be autographing his CDs.

All of the month of November is an ideal time here at the quarry. Thanksgiving week is filling fast, so call soon.

The Christmas Tree Farms open the day after Thanksgiving.

Ask our friendly staff for directions.

There are numerous ongoing attractions and events within easy driving distance of the quarry.

Thank goodness the price of fuel has been dropping somewhat. If you would like to economize further, consider these alternatives:

1) Invite a friend or neighbor to share the trip with you. Companionship and cost sharing go great together.

2) Stay longer and spread the cost over more nights. Consider our midweek specials, especially from December through March. www.marblequarry.com/contact.htm

3) Check out our cabins. All discounts apply to both camp sites and cabins.

4) Ask about our "move in - move out service" in our "bull pen" (storage area). Leave your rig here and drive your economy car.

Regardless of your political affiliation, be sure to vote on November 4th.

The friendly crew at the Marble Quarry,

John Dahlen, Joan Soma, Connie Little, Myke Little, Joe Storey, Vince Schatz, Haroldine Peterson and Ralph Squire
