How do you find the marble quarry? Just follow the white arrows up the walking trail to a historically intact marble quarry! Local historians tell us that some of the finest grade marble in the world was mined right here.

Note other signs of historic activity here. This huge iron hook was embedded in the bedrock so that heavy ropes might pass through it to haul out huge chunks of that much sought after marble.
